Corrections: Site Guide to the Birds of Veracruz, Author: Robert Straub, Published by Pronatura Veracruz, first printing: September, 2006
The following are errors found in the book after printing. As author and editor I take full responsibility for the errors. Most errors were due to computer error (of course combined with human error), which occurred in one of the final phases of the design and editing process. The most common errors mentioned below are primarily where a dash was eliminated, particularly between numbers mentioning a range of distance in kilometers or miles; for example on page 48 at the bottom of the page in the section "What to expect", it states “...about 12 km (approximately 1.5 miles)...”; this should read “...about 1-2 km (approximately 1.5 miles)...” Other errors occur, such as where an extra space occurs or two words were joined together, however these errors are not mentioned below, as the text is understandable in these cases. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience for the reader, especially in the field. Our team of reviewers, editors, and layout designers did an outstanding job with the book and the text, and these errors in no way reflect their work. I suggest incorporating the corrections below in your book as soon as possible, before taking the guide into the field. • page 61, column 2, middle: about 1.55 km (about 13 miles), should read: 1.5 to 5 km (about 1 to 3 miles)
• page 62, column 2, middle: (14,0275 ft), should read: (140 to 275 ft)
• page 63, column 1, middle: Allow about 23 hours, should read: Allow about 2 to 3 hours
